Color filter fixed to the theater spotlight

Hello Magnet-Shop Team!

At the theater, we sometimes have the problem that the common color filters are made of polyester. Using them on large spotlights or lighting devices that give off a lot of heat causes the color to fade or the filters to char in the middle and become unusable.

That’s why the filters are attached at some distance. This is often done with adhesive tape or wooden clothespins, neither of which looks very nice.

We therefore use neodymium pot magnets with an operating temperature of 150°C to attach the color filters to the housing.
It works great and is very easy and quick!

The special thing about a pot magnet is that its adhesive force is increased by a metal pot. The magnetic core lies in this so that the adhesive surface remains free. Therefore, the adhesive force only acts on one side of the magnet. The pot changes the magnetic flow and thus increases the force. This means that even relatively small magnets adhere very strongly. Pot magnets are versatile and are suitable for both commercial and private use. For example, they can be used as gripping magnets for industrial applications to transport steel and iron parts. This is why they are also called flat grippers. Such magnets are also very suitable for strong and quickly removable fastenings without drilling. Whether for trade fair and shop construction, as assembly magnets in private households, for hobby applications and other purposes.
