Magnetic foil replaces sunroof seal

Our customer sent us a somewhat unconventional but effective solution: magnetic foil replaces sunroof seal

Magnetic foil replaces sunroof seal

Dear Sir or Madam,
I would like to inform you about my use of your magnetic foil:

Problem:
The sunroof on an old Audi 80 (built in 1987) no longer works properly. It can no longer be closed completely (approx. 2 – 3 cm remain open at the front). A repair is not worthwhile because the entire roof lining has to be removed. The sunroof would have to be completely dismantled. This costs around EUR 400 – 600. For a vehicle purchase price of EUR 700.
Since the car is not considered a valuable vintage car and I only want to drive it until the next MOT (11/2013). I looked for an inexpensive solution to prevent rain from penetrating.

Solution:

I ordered 1 m of your black magnetic foil, item no. MF-615×0.85.
After simply cutting it to size with a standard cutter knife, the foil was put on. It was thoroughly tested on a long motorway journey.
Luckily we caught a thunderstorm. This made it possible to check the tightness. No complaints!

Advantages of this solution:

– very inexpensive
– still looks reasonably good
– can be removed at any time without damaging the paint, unlike adhesive foil or filling
– because it is easy to remove, the old condition can be restored when selling or if repairs are carried out
– in very hot weather (rather rare this summer) the foil can be removed and the sunroof opened
– since we often park the car in a parking lot for a few weeks when we go on a sailing trip with our yacht, we no longer need to worry about rain getting in.

Disadvantages:
– The only thing that comes to mind is that the film could possibly be stolen because it is so easy to remove, but thanks to the low price, that would be bearable.

I would like to thank you very much for the prompt delivery in top quality and wish you continued success!
