Our customer has taken on an interesting project in the hi-fi sector: Floating Hi-Fi CD Player
Floating Hi-Fi CD player
Hello Magnet-Shop Team,
I’d like to introduce you to my little project.
My basic idea was to build a base for a hi-fi CD player with virtually no contact between the device and the support.
To do this, I countersunk 10 magnets between two pieces of chipboard on each side. One of them is a 20 mm and the other a 10 mm diameter. Two plastic bushings are embedded in the middle to guide the upper plate, from which two metal rods protrude.
When the two plates are placed on top of each other, the repulsive effect is sufficient to support the CD player, and the metal rods prevent the records from twisting due to the magnets. The entire thing is placed in the existing frame and is not externally recognizable as a floating base.
The actual purpose of the design is to give the player a better foundation for playing and to keep out any possible external influences. This measure results in a more refined spatial reproduction of the sound image in my system.
Most of our neodymium block magnets have their north and south poles located on the two large, opposite surfaces. The few exceptions can be seen in the separate image. Like our neodymium disc magnets, these blocks also fall into the category of „neodymium super magnets.“ With our large selection, you’re sure to find the right magnet for your needs.
