Attach knives simply and decoratively – our customer had the right idea: Invisible and flexible attachment of a knife collection
Invisible and flexible mounting of a knife collection
Dear Magnet Shop Team,
I would like to explain my idea and application to you:
I am a knife collector and have a large collection.
As a collector, you are naturally proud of your collection and try to present it accordingly. I have a wooden back wall with a frame around it. The back wall was covered with carpet or felt. I screwed brass hooks into the wooden wall on which I can place the knives. This isn’t all that easy, because each hook has to be adjusted to the width of the knife. A collection grows and changes over time, so with my version, I had to move the hooks each time, which is a considerable time-consuming process.
My idea was to create the hooks with a magnet with a hole in the middle for screwing them in.
I screw the magnets onto the back panel and adjust the spacing with washers. I glued a thin felt pad to the magnets to protect the surface of my knives. Specially adjusted spacing was chosen for short, medium, and long knives so that I can swap the different sized knives back and forth without having to change anything. And it even looks better!
