Magnetic board for cutting dies – the practical storage option for hobbyists
Selfmade Board for cutting dies
I used Magnetic foil black coating, width 1000 x 0.85 mm and created a 1.40 x 1.00 m board with a frame for my cutting dies. The cutting dies are made of metal and adhere magnetically.
I can keep them very clearly and practically on the blackboard. I can see at a glance which die I want to use for my next project (my photo albums, greeting cards, etc.).
They hold super tight on the magnetic foil.
I assembled the frame from cut acacia wood panels from the hardware store with angles.
I glued the film to a thin MDF board with double-sided carpet tape. The plate was attached to the frame from behind with short nails.
I chose the wood for the frame to match the chest of drawers in acacia wood.
So-called motif punches (hand punches) or machines are primarily available for punching. The motif of the stencil is pressed onto the material by a mechanism and cut or embossed. Punching machines cut or punch thick materials such as photo cardboard, cardboard, foam rubber, paper, leather. A magnetic or metal foil can also be used.
The board is practical and visually it is a real eye-catcher!
In the video you can see how I used my punching machine for my project;
