Magnetic knife holder-DIY
Hello Magnet Shop Team,
Some time ago I used 20 discmagnets Ø 15.0 x 15.0 mm N45 Nickel – holds 14.4 kg to build a magnetic knife board.
Corresponding recesses were drilled using a 15 mm Forstner bit. The magnets were screwed on with small washers so that they don’t pull each other out of the drill holes.
Two rows with 9 magnets each. On one side where the heavier knives are attached, there is also a middle row of magnets.
To prevent the heavy knives from slipping, slightly stronger magnets should be used.
The 2nd generation of my magnetic knife holders is already being planned.
You will be amazed at the magnetic force of the neodymium magnets. The extremely high magnetization transforms even small disks into power magnets.
Most neodymium disc magnets have the magnetic poles on the two opposite circular surfaces (axial magnetization). Some magnetic disks are magnetized diametrically.
Thank you for sending me this great magnetic idea. We look forward to more unique models 🙂
