The farrier
He is a specialist in „manicure & pedicure“ for ungulates. Traditionally he makes the horseshoes and horseshoe nails himself using the forging process. He adapts the shoes to the shape of the hoof. In addition he also cuts the hard horn from the hoof and rasps it off. With this regular care, about every 6-8 weeks, at least advise the farriers who come to the riding stables regularly. Since approx. 10 mm horn (wall horn) plus sole, lamellar and beam horn should be produced per month. A healthy hoof is harmonious. Beaucse of this, the animals can walk properly, inflammation is prevented and the animal always wears the right „footwear“.
