Our customer had a problem with metal dust in his smartphone speakers and he decided to rescue his smarthphone with magnets.
Because a broken smartphone is always annoying.
I work in a metal processing company. I regularly have metal dust and shavings at work and inevitably in my pockets.
After a short time, the magnetic metal particles clog the speaker openings on my cell phone. This left a lot to be desired in terms of functionality, as sometimes you could hardly hear the person you were talking to.
Smartphone rescue with magnets
As a simple weapon against the magnetic effect of the speakers, I thought of a stronger magnetic field than the speakers have. So I simply ran a small block magnet over the openings. The magnet collects most of it. To loosen stuck metal dust, I stick a few small magnets onto a needle to magnetize them. The dust can then be carefully loosened with the tip and collected.
Neodymium block magnets impress with their functional rectangular shape. Whether flat or thick, elongated or cube-shaped – we have the right magnet for every taste.
